Stop dreaming and start walking the pathway to a grand life

Throw negative out the door

If the secrets of success can have one grand idea/rule, then this is it. Success doesn't dwell in the negative. Success feeds on positive thinking and positive living. It believes you are capable of unlimited happiness and potential. Once you master your feelings, then you're on the pathway to success in life. When negative thoughts creep in, replace them with the positive. Become a master of your thoughts. Visualize living in and laughing in the home of your dreams or with the person you've always wanted. If money has always been an issue with you, visualize yourself being comfortable with it. In other words, think positively about money. The more you think positively the more you radiate success, and that coupled with action attracts the kind of people and opportunities that get you where you want to go.

Understand you are not likely to achieve goals that are vague. If you're a business owner and you say you want to "increase profits this year," then that's a goal so unfocused it stands a good chance of being missed altogether. However, if you say you want to increase profits by 10%, then you now have a well-defined target and something you can actually aim at. When you're absolutely specific about what you want - whether it's a certain promotion, a healthy relationship, a percentage income increase, or whatever you define as success - then you have a bullseye you can focus on and you're more likely to keep trying until you hit it.

Dream huge!

Think bigger of yourself. Don't be afraid to envision yourself reaching an entirely new, grander level of success than ever before. Visualize yourself living a Bill Gates lifestyle. Put greater stock in your intelligence, your worth, your value to yourself and those around you. No matter what you or anyone else tells you, you can achieve greatness. But you must believe you can. And then.....

Step out of the plane

You must take action. Every step - whether big or small or a combination of the two - is a step toward fulfilling your dreams. Consider any movement you take is much more than that taken by the vast majority of people in the world who sit around "hoping" something good will happen to them. And even if you don't know how to achieve success or don't know what it means in relation to your life, continue to take some action. Whether it's learning something new, or networking with influential people, or turning off the TV and reading an inspiring book by someone you admire, you'll be taking steps that lead to other steps and so on until you find yourself living the life you may have never even dreamed of before.

I equate taking action to skydiving. You aren't going to have any fun or success (or experience the joy of taking risks) until you take that big step out of the plane. Success values action. It wants us to be decisive. If you have fear of failure and fear keeps you dreaming about success but never taking action, then "spite yourself" and take that first step. You can't imagine how good it feels. And when your fears kick in again, take the next step and the next, and keep proving to yourself you're more than the sum of your fears.
